The plan for the year lies in spring, and now is the time for hard work and progress. Since the end of February, Dongguan has been reporting good news about major projects reaching key milestones, including groundbreaking, topping out, and production launch. From transportation infrastructure to industrial upgrades, from scientific innovation platforms to educational facilities, a batch of landmark projects is accelerating their implementation, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of the “dual-achievement” city (trillion-yuan GDP and ten-million population) and sounding the new trumpet for “Invest in Dongguan.”

On March 3, the Dongguan Yuanda Intelligent Manufacturing Center project, located in Huangchong Village, Zhongtang Town, held a topping-out ceremony for its main structure. The project is set to officially commence operations in August this year. Comprising five buildings, the main structures have now been completed, with full project completion expected by July. Focused on intelligent equipment manufacturing and new energy, with complementary support for new materials and digital economy industries, this high-tech hub is projected to generate an annual output value of RMB 200 million and create 400 new job opportunities once operational.

Dongguan rail transit Line 1 completes first hot sliding test on Houde–Songfo section

On March 2, good news came from Dongguan’s rail transit Line 1 — the first sliding section (Houde to Songfo District) successfully completed its hot sliding test. The remaining sections are scheduled to complete their hot sliding test by March 31. The maximum speed of Line 1 will reach 120 km/h. Once completed, it will intersect with the already operational Line 2, enabling easy transfer. In the future, the entire line will be connected with the rail transit systems in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Additionally, key stations such as Dongguan West Station, Hongfu Road Station (Citizen Center Station), and Dongcheng South Station will provide transfer options to multiple rail lines, including the Sui-Shen Intercity Railway, Fo-Guan Intercity Railway, Dongguan rail transit Line 2, and Guan-Hui Intercity Railway, bringing true convenience to Dongguan residents. In the just-concluded Dongguan Two Sessions, the Dongguan municipal government work report highlighted that the city will accelerate the upgrade of urban infrastructure this year and launch the first phase of rail transit Line 1.

In early March, the Leaguer (Dongguan) Innovation Base project was progressing in an organized and efficient manner, with the renovation of industrial buildings and supporting facilities underway. This project is a key platform, carrier, and base for the integration of “science and technology innovation + advanced manufacturing” in Dongguan’s major projects and Qingxi Town. As of now, the entire project has been completed and is in the final stages of renovation, with full completion and operation expected by the end of June this year. Its completion and production will accelerate the gathering of high-quality industrial elements, talents, and structures, providing strong momentum for the industrial transformation and upgrading, as well as the economic and social development of Qingxi Town.

Phase II project of Biocean

Also in early March, the Phase II project of Biocean officially broke ground, with an expected completion date of April 30, 2027. The total investment for the project is 1 billion yuan, covering a total construction area of 200,000 square meters. The project will establish a closed-loop chain of “research and development incubation - pilot acceleration – industrialization” and create Dongguan's first biotechnology and pharmaceutical-themed park, driving the biopharmaceutical industry toward the high end of the value chain.

On March 1, the general contracting bid for the Humen Huaide Intelligent Manufacturing Center was launched, with an expected completion date in 2027. The total investment for the project exceeds 1.4 billion yuan, with a total construction area of 420,000 square meters. On February 27, the land for the Wenkai Plastics Industry Regional Headquarters Center project in Xiegang Town was successfully acquired, with a total investment of 968 million yuan and an expected completion and operation date in 2027. The project is being invested and constructed by Dongguan Jiashang Investment Co., Ltd. and will primarily focus on the research and development and trading of modified plastics. It will further strengthen the collaboration between upstream and downstream sectors of the plastic industry chain, promoting the high-quality industrial development of Xiegang Town.

On February 25, the land for the Jiahong Art Toys Cultural Headquarters project and the Yihexing New Energy Communications Server Cooling Base project in Qingxi Town were successfully acquired, with a total investment of nearly 500 million yuan.  Xincheng Avenue (Xin Gongchang Road) Project

On February 21, the Huangjiang Town Xincheng Avenue (Xin Gongchang Road) project officially broke ground and is slated for completion in 2026. With a total investment of approximately RMB 633 million, the project includes two municipal roads—Xincheng Avenue and Central Road—that will link Huangjiang’s new urban core with Shenzhen’s Guangming Science City. This corridor is expected to unlock over 1,000 mu (≈165 acres) of industrial land along its route, accelerate the absorption of Shenzhen’s spillover sci-tech innovation resources and high-end industries, and solidify the region’s “scientific innovation + advanced manufacturing” ecosystem.

From interconnected transport arteries to rising innovation hubs, from land acquisitions for industrial expansion to the establishment of corporate headquarters, Dongguan is charging into the new year with a “decisive battle from day one” mindset, igniting a fresh wave of investment. As projects transition from blueprints to reality, the clarion call to “Invest in Dongguan” grows ever louder, fueling the dynamic momentum of this “dual-achievement” city (trillion-yuan GDP and ten-million population) as it ascends to new heights.
