On December 2, Xiao Yafei, Secretary of the CPC Dongguan Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of Dongguan Municipal People's Congress, met and discussed with the director of National Local Joint Engineering Laboratory of Electrical and Digital Design Technology, and Professor Dai Yuxing, chief technical operator of Guangdong Zhicheng Champion Group Co.,Ltd. During their exchange, Xiao encouraged high-level talents to actively participate in the economic, social development and construction of Dongguan, and promote the commercialization of more scientific and technological achievements in Dongguan, thereby making greater new contributions to the high-quality development of Dongguan at the new starting point after it has become a city with a GDP of over one trillion yuan and a population of over 10 million. Professor Dai Yuxing introduced his team and projects at first. He is one of the Grade-1 special talents of Dongguan, and the No. 1 core member of the Innovation Team for Green Conversion and Control of Power introduced to enterprises through The Pearl River Talent Recruitment Program. The Innovation Team is lead by Luo An, an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. Professor Dai Yuxing is the first person to complete the project of the Key Technology, Equipment and Application of Island/Shore-based High Overload and Super Power System, which was awarded the National Second Prize for Progress in Science and Technology in 2020. According to Dai, CPC Dongguan Municipal Party Committee and Dongguan Municipal Government have always been taking effective measures to respect, care and serve talents. Our team feels warm and is inspired. Next, we will work with enterprises to substantially improve the economic benefits of products and cultivate talents.
Xiao Yafei was grateful to Professor Dai Yuxing and his team for their contribution to the innovation and development of science and technology in Dongguan. He pointed out that, Dongguan, in recent years, has insisted to develop the manufacturing industry and improve the innovation and development ability in the round, with scientific innovation as the guide. We have promoted the transformation of population advantage into talent advantage, and constantly accelerated high-quality development. It’s expected that Dongguan will hit 1 trillion yuan annual GDP by the end of this year, becoming the 15th city with a GDP of over one trillion yuan and a population of over 10 million on Chinese mainland. The most important supports lie in the vigorous development of scientific innovation and advanced manufacturing, and the continuous gathering and contribution of high-level talents. At the new starting point being a city with a GDP of over one trillion yuan and a population of over 10 million, Dongguan will continue to adhere to its characteristics of “Science Innovation and Advanced Manufacturing” and further optimize whole-chain scientific innovation ecosystem, so as to better support strategic emerging industries and industrial transformation and upgrading. To achieve this goal, Dongguan needs a large group of talents from all sectors, especially high-level talents, to make contribution, participate in innovation-driven development, and promote the rapid commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. We hope that high-level talents will take root in Dongguan, contribute their wisdom, and make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of Dongguan.
